A black box is not always a redaction
Some PDF tools draw a rectangle over text while leaving the original text layer underneath. Anyone can sometimes copy, search or remove the overlay. A safer export removes or replaces the underlying value and then checks the output.
Three checks for a safer export
AnonymizeDocs keeps processing in the browser and verifies supported searchable output before download. Use these checks for every sensitive file:
- Search for the original value in the exported PDF.
- Zoom through pages and inspect headers, footers, tables and images.
- Confirm the export report shows no unresolved accepted values and that any OCR limitations are visible.
Know the limits
OCR is probabilistic and can misread low-quality scans, unusual fonts or handwriting. Image-level processing is guarded: when a supported image cannot be safely rewritten and rechecked, the export is stopped rather than presented as complete.
Important: AnonymizeDocs is a document preparation tool, not legal advice or a guarantee that every sensitive value has been found.
