Before a file is processed
After a file enters local memory, you immediately see whether it can be processed and what happens next: file name, format, page count or size, and whether it is a native-text or scanned document. If a file is password protected, corrupt, over the limit, or in an unsupported format, the reason and next step are shown clearly. No allowance is used.
About scanned documents (Beta)
Scanned and image-based PDFs are processed with on-device OCR. The tool shows the local resource size, expected processing time, and a reminder that page-by-page review is still necessary. Accepted OCR regions are painted into the exported copy and rechecked with OCR; if verification cannot complete, the download is blocked. Canceling does not use allowance.
No file is uploaded at any point. The original and the exported copy stay on this device, and the workspace is usable offline once resources are cached.
Frequently asked
Can I process a password-protected PDF?
Not yet. Encrypted files are rejected before any content is read, with a clear reason and the option to return to file selection.
Which plans support DOCX?
DOCX export is included with Document Packs and Pro. The Free plan covers verified PDF exports only. Pro adds a larger monthly allowance and encrypted mapping-vault sync; OCR is available on every plan. DOCX embedded-image OCR is Beta and currently supports PNG and JPEG image rewriting.
What happens if a file is too large?
Oversized or over-limit files are blocked before processing, with the specific limit shown. This does not use allowance.
